Cripple Creek’s high and dry climate and location on the southwest slopes of Pikes Peak can create some dramatic weather. Summer days are almost always started with a sun-filled sky, followed by a brief, cooling afternoon shower and a beautiful evening sunset. Winters are brisk with an occasional blanket of sparkling snow that is quickly melted off.
