SNOW SPORTS

Numerous trails wind through the region that are great for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Most are along the Highway 67 corridor north of Cripple Creek either in Mueller State Park or across the highway from the park near the Crags. Because of our fabulous year round sunshine it is better to get out on fresh snow early in the day. It might not be there for long!

In the spring we get the most snow of the year. Snowmobilers enjoy exploring the snow-bound national forest after these big snows. If there isn’t enough snow here, take a day trip out toward Buffalo Peaks for cross country skiing or snowshoeing -- it's less than an hour west. Tackle the slopes at Breckenridge and Monarch Mountain for world-class skiing only an hour and a half away. Drive out for the day – come back to Cripple Creek for the night life.

Winter in the Pikes Peak region provides visitors with world-class
recreation. Whether it's around the bend or a short drive to the slopes,
every day you can take your pick of multiple snow sports options.
