FIFTH ANNUAL CRIPPLE CREEK ICE FESTIVAL

February 11-12th & 18-19th, 2012
Last year's "Story Time in Cripple Creek" delighted 85,000 plus people during the advertised event dates, with an amazing showcase of ice sculpted by world-famous and local artists. The 2012 event will feature a new theme, a "Military Salute Carved in Ice." The Cripple Creek Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with The Home Front Cares to show Cripple Creek's support of our service members and their families. Please check our website often for a detailed schedule of events and additional event information.

February 12-13th & 19-21st, 2011
Don't just curl up with a good book this winter. Come up to Cripple Creek and you may just find yourself walking through one!
The 4th Annual Cripple Creek Ice Festival will be featuring "Story Time," where our ice carvers can incorporate their interpretation of any piece of classic literature into their art.
Spectators that enjoy watching the ice carving are invited to join us as sculptors wield chainsaws and carving tools to create their masterpieces. This family friendly event will have several activities for children and adults, including two ice mazes, an ice slide, a martini bar, and retail and food vendors on the street and in the heated event tent. Visitors are encouraged to visit both weekends, as sculptors will be carving throughout the two weeks and additional new ice sculptures will be carved for the second weekend. So put down that book, bundle up, and join us for this two-weekend event as we transform Bennett Avenue into a literary work of art!
Once again, the Cripple Creek Ice Festival will be supporting a great community organization. To benefit the Children's Literacy Center, the Cripple Creek Ice Festival will be holding a book and supply drive. Please help us support this organization by donating books or other needed items (listed below) at our event in the main event tent. The organization will accept books for all audiences.
