GOLD CAMP CHRISTMAS

December 10 - 11, 2011
Christmas in the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Camp is a special time of year. Everywhere you look, the holiday spirit fills the air as our communities are transformed by festive displays, fun holiday events, and unlimited Christmas cheer. Our enthusiasm is so contagious, even our donkeys are joining in the fun! Keep on the lookout, as this year's theme is the "Gold Camp Christmas Donkeys," and everything from our parade to our holiday Butte Theater show will feature our Christmas donkey friends!
Stop by the Sugar Plum Gift Shop and the Christmas Bazaar for that perfect gift, or visit the Elf Emporium where you can find items made by local crafters! Decorated Christmas trees, available for purchase through the Live Tree Auction, will be on display for your enjoyment and holiday decorating inspiration. Don't miss our Christmas Parade, with appearances from Santa, Mrs. Clause, and even our guests of honor: our Christmas Donkeys! Festive activities for children include gift making, crafts, a scavenger hunt, skating around the Christmas Tree, pin the tail on the Christmas Donkey, and numerous opportunities to whisper Christmas wishes in Santa's ear! And of course, no Christmas would be complete without s'mores and marshmallows roasting on an open fire, and free hot chocolate and cider to warm your hands and soul.
For a real treat, join us for the Colorado Springs Chorale holiday performance held at the Cripple Creek Baptist Church. Additional entertainment includes musical groups performing special holiday favorites, and the holiday show "The Christmas Donkey," performed by the Thin Air Theater Production Company at the Butte Opera House.
